Milan news!

It seems like Milan is gone from the production company "Grand". I think it's good for him anyway, he has so much potential! On Youtube milansofficial wrote that it looks like he is going to work with the manager of Marija Serifovic, winner of ESC 2008! That's awsome!!!

"Pay 1.2 million EURO and be free says the managers of the Grand production in order to determinate cooperation with Milan Stankovic. But only when he, as it violates a valid and signed contract, return the money from the past three years they invested in him..."
That's so ridiculous. Milan has certainly put enough money to them anyway, on his "Solo" album and his concerts!!!

  1. If they are asking for such a huge amount then they obviously are not just letting him go. But then it's all speculation and tabloids.
And they do get most or all the profits from his album which is now selling to non-Serbs far outside of Serbia, thanks to awareness of him through Eurovision.
Plus, they also sell videos of his Grand performances and shows - and I'm sure they get the profits off of those, as well as their cut of the concerts and performances he gives when he tours in clubs and such.
I think people are rushing to soon to believe he's gone from Grand.
The Grand people don't really want him to go, it seems. There strategy seems to be to wait for him to breakdown and apologize. The Grand director, according to one of Milan's relatives, was said that they wouldn't give him work until he came crawling back hungry. So I still think they maybe are trying to wait him out until he really needs the money.
If he was truly free of Grand like that, he'd be able to start working with the others right away.
On the other hand, I can see how Grand is upset by Milan's behavior.
It doesn't seem he gave any clue that he was unhappy with Grand or had any major disagreements with them, and he seemed happy enough performing and in interviews. They were the ones who made him popular - gave him the platform and format (their stage, their camera men, their musicians, their show, etc.) to become popular. They did help him with songs and album and one cool video (Fejs).
However, I think they weren't able to do enough - original songs and video - for someone of his talent, in three years. I think they have too many singers they have to work with and therefore they should be more flexible to allow (rent out sort of) him to work with others, so he can develop his career more fully.
But they are inflexible. He was only trying to change his contract, but their reaction was more anger and I think everything snowballed.
Don't know if he had pre-planned to rebel before he came back from Eurovision or he was just to worn down to face more interviews at that moment. But Sasa Popovic didn't cut him any slack and his reaction - forced vacation/ban - caused a reaction from Milan and then another from Grand and then Milan hired a lawyer and the lawyer apparently thinks the contract can be nulled because of illegalities.

  2. I meant before Eurovision with this comment: "It doesn't seem he gave any clue that he was unhappy with Grand or had any major disagreements with them, and he seemed happy enough performing and in interviews."

I think they are shocked at him acting like he never was before. It could be that Eurovision was very very hard and stressful for him - in fact he has stated that he did pay a big price. He had to go to Oslo just after the death of a very close uncle, who was a father figure to him, and it was hard for him to be separated from his family at this time. That may have been a part of his behavior change.
But also, I think the RTS people who ran Eurovision may have said some things which made him want to work with them or others outside of Grand.
